Men's health

Men's health, starting with the numbers.

Weight, testosterone, thyroid and metabolism, read by an endocrinologist before anything is recommended. Men are welcome for all of it.

A body composition analyzer in a Qua treatment room

Men tend to arrive here after a long stretch of pushing through. The weight has stopped moving no matter how the training goes, energy fades by mid-afternoon, and a standard blood panel says everything looks fine. A normal result is a population range. Where you sit inside it, and why, is the appointment we do best.

Every plan at Qua begins with Dr. Abboud, never with a sales consult. She is board-certified in endocrinology, internal medicine and obesity medicine, and has spent thirty years treating the hardest cases in hormones and weight. She has tried every treatment here on herself first. We read your hormones and metabolism before we recommend anything, medical or aesthetic.

Weight loss for men

Weight loss at Qua is led by an endocrinologist. It starts with a full evaluation of hormones and metabolism, because in our experience weight that will not move often has a reason the scale cannot show: insulin resistance, a slow thyroid, a disrupted cortisol rhythm or low testosterone.

When it fits, we use FDA-approved medication. Some of these medicines target GLP-1 receptors, others both GIP and GLP-1, and the evaluation decides which, if any, suits your body. It is not just medication. Body mass analysis tracks fat and lean mass rather than one number, and monthly follow-ups with Dr. Abboud help keep the plan on track.

Low testosterone, evaluated properly

Low energy, a lower drive, a softer middle, trouble holding on to muscle. Men often search those symptoms and land on testosterone as the answer. Sometimes it is. It can also sit low because of excess weight, insulin resistance, poor sleep or a thyroid problem, and then treating the cause may matter more than replacing the hormone.

A low testosterone evaluation at Qua is done by Dr. Abboud and looks at the whole picture: testosterone alongside thyroid, fasting insulin, cortisol rhythm, body composition and sleep. If treatment is right for you, the options are discussed at your consultation and may include hormone pellet therapy. Nothing is prescribed before the evaluation is complete.

Hormones and metabolism

These conditions are treated here by an endocrinologist, with the same evaluation first.

  • Thyroid disease and Hashimoto's
  • Insulin resistance, prediabetes and diabetes
  • Cortisol and fatigue
  • Osteoporosis and bone health
  • Sermorelin, a peptide therapy that may support the body's own growth hormone release, for patients Dr. Abboud considers suitable after evaluation

Aesthetics for men

The rule for men is the same as for everyone: natural, or not at all. Botox is dosed by a medical provider, aiming for a result that looks like you on your best day, and the consult decides the plan before anything is injected. Botox for sweating is available too.

Morpheus8 and Lumecca IPL can improve collagen, tone and texture for many patients. Laser hair removal covers the back, chest and neck. Verju green laser, CoolSculpting and Morpheus8 Body offer non-invasive contouring, planned around your physiology once the medical side is in hand.

Who this is for
  • Men whose weight has stopped responding to diet and training
  • Men with low energy, lower drive or poor sleep whose labs came back normal
  • Men with prediabetes, insulin resistance or a thyroid question
  • Men who want subtle aesthetic work from a medical provider, not a sales consult
What to expect
  1. Request a consultation

Request a time online at our Burr Ridge office, no referral needed. The first visit is booked as a Weight Loss Consultation, whichever concern brings you in. A $50 deposit holds the request, and our team confirms every appointment personally.

  2. A real evaluation

Labs, history, body composition, and a doctor who listens. Beyond a standard panel we look at testosterone, fasting insulin, thyroid antibodies, cortisol rhythm, GLP-1 response, and sleep and hunger hormones.

  3. Your plan, and follow-ups

Medical, aesthetic, or both, with exact pricing before anything is scheduled. Monthly check-ins with Dr. Abboud adjust it as your labs and symptoms change.

Questions people ask

Straight answers.

The method is the same: labs, history and body composition, read by Dr. Abboud before anything is recommended. For men, the panel also includes testosterone.

Not before the evaluation is complete. Dr. Abboud reads your labs, history and body composition first, because low testosterone can have a cause worth treating on its own.

Not all of them. They work differently, and the evaluation is how we decide which one, if any, fits your body.

No referral. Consultations are requested directly online. Ask the front desk about insurance for medical visits.

A $50 deposit holds your request and goes toward the visit. Everything else is exact pricing at your consultation, and you leave with a plan, not a package.
